Naomi Washer is a writer, translator, and the editor-in-chief & publisher of Ghost Proposal. She is the author of Trainsongs (forthcoming from Greying Ghost Press), Phantoms (dancing girl press) and American Girl Doll (Ursus Americanus Press) and the translator from the Spanish of Sebastián Jiménez Galindo’s Experimental Gardening Manual: create your own habitat in thirty-something simple steps (Toad Press).

 

Her essays, poems, translations, and dance films have appeared widely in journals, including Seneca Review, Asymptote, Sundog Lit, Passages North, Essay Daily, the Boiler, Interim, and Split Lip Magazine. In 2019, she was named one of 30 Writers to Watch by the Guild Complex. She has been awarded fellowships and residencies from Yaddo, Vermont Studio Center, Studio Faire and Chateau Orquevaux in France, and Numeroventi in Italy.

 

She holds an MFA in Nonfiction from Columbia College Chicago where she received the
Follet Fellowship, and a BA in Dance, Theatre, and Literature from Bennington College.

Her debut novel, Subjects We Left Out, is forthcoming from Veliz Books in March, 2021.
