Naomi Washer is a writer and literary translator from the French.

She is the author of a novel, Subjects We Left Out (Veliz Books) and several chapbooks including Trainsongs (Greying Ghost Press), American Girl Doll (Ursus Americanus), and Phantoms (dancing girl press).


Her translation of Sebastián Jiménez Galindo’s Experimental Gardening Manual was published by Toad Press.


Her essays, poems, and translations have appeared in Seneca Review, Essay Daily, Asymptote, Sundog Lit, and other journals. 


She has received support from Yaddo, Vermont Studio Center, Chateau Orquevaux, The Guild Literary Complex, Studio Faire, Numeroventi, and Columbia College Chicago where she earned her MFA in Nonfiction. 

She co-founded Ghost Proposal in 2012 and served as Editor-in-Chief for 10 years.

She lives in the West Village in Manhattan.
