hello, i am naomi washer,

a psychoanalyst in formation in New York City.

My training is facilitated primarily by the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP), an institute founded in 1948 for the training of ‘lay analysts’ by Freud’s student Theodor Reik.

I practice under supervision at NPAP’s Theodor Reik Clinical Center, an affordable clinic in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, while working toward the New York State License in Psychoanalysis.

I have a particular interest in Freudian Lacanian psychoanalysis and its relevance in the contemporary clinic, the formation of subjectivity, the unconscious body image, creative identity as symptom, and creativity as defensive structure.
